RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS
(RCIA)
RCIA is the way people join the Catholic Christian Family or become fully initiated members of it. This rite is meant to be the basic way through which an adult candidate would become fully initiated into the Catholic Church. Candidates include already baptized Christians who seek to enter the Catholic Church and adult Catholics who need to be fully initiated by reception of First Eucharist and/or Confirmation, as well as the unbaptized or non-Christians.
RCIA stands for the official name given by the Church: The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. The RCIA is usually 10 months long. For further information contact the Rectory Office.
RCIA Team
A priest, sister, deacon, or lay leader heads the team. Parish members are needed to act as administrators, catechists, and sponsors. Being part of the team is a wonderful experience of growth and learning.
RCIA Sponsors
Each candidate needs a companion to take the journey with them. Training is provided on an ongoing basis for sponsors.
