BAPTISM

Liturgy of Baptism for infants is celebrated the first three Sundays of the month at 1:00 p.m. Parents must register their child by completing a Baptism Form. If it is your first child you must attend a Pre-Jordan Seminar. Call the Rectory Office to register and for details.

Pre-Jordan Seminar

The purpose of this program is to assist parents in celebrating the Baptism of their child and to give them insights into the child's spiritual care and training. The program is required before a child is baptized. Parents are encouraged to attend while they are expecting their baby.

The program is held on the fourth Sunday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the Parish Center. Please register by calling the Rectory Office.

Godparents

Together with the parents, sponsors (godparents) present the infant for Baptism. Sponsors are to help the baptized lead a Christian life in harmony with the baptismal call and to fulfill the obligations connected with it.

To qualify as a sponsor, an individual must:

Be 16 years of age
Be a practicing Catholic
(i.e. weekly attendance at Mass, frequent reception of sacraments of Penance and Eucharist)
If married, be validly married according to laws of the Church

Note:

One sponsor may be a non-Catholic Christian, who is an active (practicing) member of a Christian Church.
