PARISH BEREAVEMENT GROUP

Grief is the emotional, physical and spiritual response to the loss or anticipated loss of someone in whom one has been invested. Grief is a part of the human condition, a part of love. The more one loves, the more acute the experience of separation may be.

The Bereavement Group provides emotional and spiritual support to all in the parish who have lost dear ones. Our ministry focuses on the ill and bereaved of the parish. We have a monthly Bereavement: Prayer and Support gathering held the last Wed. of every month in the IHM room of the old church (Monihan Hall) at 7:00 pm for anyone who has been through the loss of a loved one at any time. We also minister to the ill of the parish. We try to minister to the person as a whole trying to find God's presence in their illness or aging. We make visits to the hospital, home,or nursing home. We also help people tap into the resources available to them in our area of Chester County once they are home and need assistance.

If anyone needs our assistance, or would like to be a member of the ministry contact the Coordinator, Jackie Funk - jbfunkinc@comcast.net or call 610-431-2304

The Bereavement Group is open to all members of the parish and their families.
