We are pleased to welcome Gregory Pasquale Ciminera (Greg) to our parish management team as our new Director of Parish Services.
Taking over for Marty Harris, Greg comes to us from Saint Thomas the Apostle in Glen Mills, which is also his home parish, where he served as their Parish Manager and still actively serves as a weekend Sacristan and a member of their Finance and Pastoral Councils.
Greg is a passionate and enlivened Catholic, inspired to utilize his extensive business acumen and experience in service of our church after the tragedy of 9/11. What began as a pro-bono Consultant, and then as a Business Manager, helping service several area parishes, Greg was then quickly identified and recruited downtown to the Archdiocesan offices. He was first asked to serve as the archdiocesan Senior Financial Analyst in Temporal Services, and then later being asked to take over as the Executive Director of BLOCS (Business Leaders Organized for Catholic Schools). Under his leadership, BLOCS experienced substantial growth, expanding both its BOD and scholarships. More recently, Greg also worked as the COO/CFO for Ascension Press for over five years, where he was instrumental in its significant development and growth as well.
Prior to his service to the faith, Greg was a successful management consultant and business executive, and had a very intriguing career in the hospitality industry before embracing the servant leadership call for the church many years ago. Just ask him to tell you about watching the Eagles from the sidelines every Sunday at the VET, or managing a Super Bowl in Miami, or being on the opening team for the PA Convention Center, or even working with Father Mike Schmitz and various other celebrities or dignitaries over the years.
He earned degrees in both Accounting and Hotel/Restaurant & Institutional Management, at Delaware County Community College and at Drexel University. Greg also has a Professional Teaching Certificate in College Instruction and Adult Learning, and a Master's degree (MBA) in Business Administration and Leadership from Drexel University.
As a loyal husband and an active Father of a lovely daughter, he says he feels truly blessed to be here at SSJ and not traveling as a business consultant any longer. He is looking forward to meeting and working with all our parishioners here at Simon and Jude.
