Each week a Ministy at Saint Simon and Jude Parish will be highlighted. There will be interviews as well as detailed descriptions of what the Ministry does.
Name of Ministry: SSJ CYO
Purpose of Ministry: SSJ CYO is one component of our Parish's youth ministry program which enables the partnership of parents, coaches, priests, religious, teachers, and adult leaders to manage and support a sports program that allows youth to grow in their relationship with God, and come to better understand themselves and the Catholic Faith.
History of Ministry: SSJ CYO has been a part of the school since it began opened back in 1961. The program has certainly grown since then, as we now offer 12 programs for boys and girls in grades K thru 12th.
Volunteers - How to become a volunteer: SSJ CYO is always looking for volunteers / coaches. If interested, please contact Bob DelVescovo, SSJ CYO Athletic Director, at [email protected].
Join The Ministry: How does someone participate in the ministry? Both SSJ students and Parishoners in grades K thru 12 are eligible to participate in SSJ CYO. Prior to each season (Fall, Winter, & Spring), parents can register this child / children via a unique link that gets sent out via e-mail. We also provide information on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Purpose of Ministry: Wash, Iron & Fold Altar Linens (purificators, lavabos, corporal) also wash some terry cloth towels
History of Ministry: I’m not sure how long this ministry has been active. I have been on this ministry around 10 years and have been ministry leader the past 6 years.
Volunteers - How to become a volunteer: You can email Diane Cusick @ [email protected] or call 484-433-6988
Join The Ministry: How does someone participate in the ministry? By volunteering for this ministry you would be required to wash one load of altar linens and iron them 3-4 times a year.
Anything else you want parishioners to know about the ministry? We also look at the albs and take one that looks dirty to wash & iron.
