Greetings in Our Lord!
Dear Saints Simon and Jude Parishioners.
Spiritual growth and renewal are essential to our parish life. Every day I’m blessed by the kindness and care parishioners like you show towards Saints Simon and Jude. It is genuinely inspiring!
An important part of this spiritual growth is embodied in the principle of stewardship. Stewardship leads us to recognize the blessings we have received from God and to show our gratitude for the gifts we have received by returning to Him a portion of the time, talent and treasure He has given us.
During the next few weeks, our parish will be conducting a stewardship renewal. Important questions to consider are:
Time: How much time each week do you participate in parish ministries, programs, and activities?
Talent: How are you using your talents, skills, abilities and knowledge to do God’s work at Saints Simon and Jude?
Treasure: What percentage of your yearly income do you donate to support the important ministry and work of our parish?
Providing the Sacraments and ministries for those seeking a welcoming Catholic community is imperative. We are currently facing rising costs, and sustainable offertory income is crucial to the long-term stability of this Church. We decided to launch The Saints Simon and Jude Fall 2022 Stewardship Initiative to address this concern. It is a time to think about a special opportunity to consider your gifts, your personal stewardship and your relationship with the Lord.
I humbly ask if you will consider prayerfully reflecting on your weekly offering. I have enclosed an intention card with suggested moderate offering increases IF your budget allows. You can return your commitment via the envelope or the collection basket.
Building community is a key part of our mission. You should have received a Parish Guidebook recently in the mail to learn more about our beautiful ministries. If you are able and have interest, we invite you to consider sharing a bit of your time in one of the many ministries listed on the enclosed Volunteer Interest Card.
God is the origin of all of our gifts. Jesus speaks of the faithful and prudent steward as one the master assigned the responsibility to manage resources. You can play a crucial role in assuring the future well-being of our neighborhood Church. Thank you for your kindness and sacrifices. Be assured of the priests, deacons and sisters prayer for you!
Gratefully, in Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
Father Michael J. Gerlach, Pastor
